We know navigating support services and the NDIS can sometimes feel overwhelming, so we’ve answered some of the most common questions here. If there’s something else you’d like to know, simply contact Tautai Support Services. Our team are always happy to help.

Can my support change over time as my needs or goals change?

We understand that life isn’t static and that your needs, preferences and goals can shift over time, and your support should reflect that. At Tautai Support Services, we regularly check in with you to make sure everything is still working well. If something no longer suits you or you’d like to try a new direction, we can work with you to update your care plan and adjust your supports. This could be as simple as changing the timing of your visits, or as involved as adding new types of NDIS services to match your goals.

We stay flexible because we know that real support is about meeting you where you are now, not where you were six months ago. Contact Tautai Support Services today to discuss the type of support you are looking for.

We know how important it is to feel comfortable with the people supporting you. Wherever possible, we aim to provide consistency by matching you with the same support worker or small team of familiar faces. That said, there may be times when someone else steps in, for example, due to illness or leave, but we’ll always let you know ahead of time and introduce you to anyone new.

We also take your preferences seriously. If you ever feel that a worker isn’t the right fit, we’ll listen and make changes. Our goal is to build long-term, respectful relationships that help you feel at ease and supported, not just assisted.

Your family, carer or chosen supports can be as involved as you’d like them to be. At Tautai Support Services, we welcome input from the people who know you best, especially during the early planning stages. Their insights can help us shape support that works well for you, while also helping them feel confident in the care you’re receiving.

We’re always careful to make sure your voice remains central to every decision. If there’s ever a time when you’d prefer to have private discussions without others involved, that’s absolutely respected too. Our approach is flexible, person-centred, and focused on what you feel most comfortable with, whether that’s involving others closely, occasionally, or not at all.

That’s more common than you might think, and we’re here to help you figure it out. Some people come to us with a clear idea of what they want, while others just know they need a bit of support but aren’t sure where to start. We’ll begin with a conversation, nothing too formal, just a chat about your daily life, what’s working, and where you might need some help.

From there, we can guide you through the different NDIS services available and suggest options that align with your situation. You’ll never be rushed or pressured. It’s about exploring what feels right, at your pace, and building a support plan that grows with you.

Our team includes professionals with a wide range of backgrounds, including aged care, mental health, disability support, palliative care and diversional therapy. Each team member is carefully selected for their experience, reliability and respectful approach. Everyone working with participants has the required certifications, such as Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, First Aid and CPR, and up-to-date police and NDIS Worker Screening Checks.

Beyond formal training, we also look for people who genuinely care; people who take the time to listen, adapt and show up consistently. Ongoing training is part of our commitment too, so our workers continue to grow and stay across best practices in delivering safe, high-quality NDIS services.

We treat feedback as something valuable and are open to all feedback, good and bad. If you ever feel something isn’t right, you’re encouraged to tell us. Whether it’s a small issue or a serious concern, we’ll listen carefully and take action.

You can speak with us directly, send an email, or have a family member or advocate raise the matter on your behalf. Everything you share is treated respectfully and confidentially. We’re committed to working with you to resolve any problems quickly and fairly. Clear communication and trust are key parts of our approach, and we genuinely want to know when something isn’t working so we can do better.

Changing your care plan is a straightforward process, and we’ll support you through it. If something in your day-to-day life changes, such as your goals, health, or preferences, we can review your current support with you and look at what needs to be adjusted. This might involve changing the types of support you receive, updating how often we visit, or shifting the focus of your sessions.

We’ll take the time to talk through what’s working and what isn’t, then document the changes clearly so everyone is on the same page. Because we offer flexible NDIS services, your care plan is never locked in, it’s a living document that can evolve with you.

We sure can. We often collaborate with other providers, therapists, or allied health professionals to make sure your support is well-coordinated. If you’re already seeing a psychologist, physiotherapist, or another support worker from a different provider, we can work alongside them to ensure everyone is on the same page.

With your permission, we’re happy to share relevant information and keep communication open. This kind of teamwork helps avoid gaps or duplication and keeps your care smooth and consistent. Our focus is on making things easier for you and working with other professionals is one of the ways we make that happen. Contact Tautai Support Services today to see how we can support you.
